The Stairs - One

We are lucky to have two sets of separate stairs in our house. So I decided to go for a bit of a different look on each one. The first set were covered in grey carpet, when we ripped it out we discovered that they were painted red!  and who ever was in charge of carpet glue had left some messages on the stairs with it! After a few months I decided to do the second set but instead of continuing the runner it was painted (see next blog for Stairs - Two)

The base of the stairs were painted in Farrow and Ball Wimborne White and then we went for a beautiful Roger Oates runner to go all the way up. We recently painted the bannisters in Farrow and Ball Black & Blue. I love the contrast this has made to the hallway, topped off with some new moulding throughout to create a panelling effect.
