The first dusting of Christmas sparkle...
The blue room is starting to look festive and full of sparkle, just waiting for the tree... I couldn't resist putting these beautiful illuminated bubbles, trees, stars and hearts out a few days early this year, to get us all in into the Christmas spirit. There is nothing more magical than lighting for children at Christmas, my daughter and sons little faces when they saw these...
I have always loved decorating mirrors, as the reflection doubles up your decor giving a striking layered effect especially when illuminated. The picture below only has one heart and two trees, but it gives the illusion of six.
These Christmas shapes from one.world are all battery operated, which is amazing, no wires in sight. Last year I had a couple of similar stars that needed a socket and it was a nightmare trying to find a place to hang them without the endless lead making a prominent feature.
Now to get that fire roaring and think about the rest of the house and the Christmas tree, which has to be in this room too, so it can be shut off now and then from the puppy and my 20 month toddler, who would both have a field day if they got their hands on it! The rest of the decor in this house will need to have height. I love the month of December and the warmth and cosiness it brings to all interiors you can't beat a bit of sparkle...
